AIRDATE: January 2, 1993
COMMENTATORS: Jim Ross & “The Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko

Badd battling Barry Windham in a match whose closing moments has been burned into my brain since I first watched the show live. Also Brian Pillman & Steve Austin start their tag team journey this week but that probably won’t lead anywhere, definitely not to the best tag team of the year or anything, and we get a rundown of the Clash of the Champions card that is very subject to change.

WCW POWER HOUR 08.03.1991 Recap + Review – Six Man Bounty for the Mask Match, Squashes Galore

COMMENTATORS: Jim Ross & Paul E. Dangerously

Legacy of WCW continues on Jon vs. Pro Wrestling as we head into August 1991, with the first episode of Power Hour. This one features matches that have already aired in previous weeks on other programming but since we’re starting fresh on a new website I have treated them as new; future rundowns will be a lot more condensed since Power Hour tends to be mostly rehashed footage if you watch all of their other TV.

[PPV Recap] ‘WCW Uncensored 1995’ – Hogan vs. Vader, Nasty Boys vs. Harlem Heat

Date: March 19, 1995
Venue: Tupelo Coliseum (Tupelo, MS)
Commentators: Tony Schiavone & Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan

The first-ever Uncensored set the tone for the soon to be annual PPV event, featuring a whole host of matches considered ‘unsanctioned’ by WCW. That meant no rules, no mercy, and NO TITLES ON THE LINE. It was a cool idea on paper but this is WCW we’re talking about so the execution left a lot to be desired. Like “a lot” a lot. I’ve never watched this one before after reading so much bad press around it but you know what? I’m game to give it a shot. What’s the worst that could-wait Jim Duggan is competing in a MARTIAL ARTS match? And this is the debut of THE RENEGADE? Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no.

Champion Roll-Call

  • WCW World Heavyweight Champion: Hulk Hogan
  • WCW United States Champion: Vader
  • WCW Television Champion: Arn Anderson
  • WCW World Tag Team Champions: Harlem Heat (Booker T & Stevie Ray)

The Lineup

  • King of the Road Match: Dustin Rhodes vs. The Blacktop Bully (*3/4)
  • Martial Arts Match: Jim Duggan vs. Meng (DUD)
  • Boxer vs. Wrestler: Johnny B. Badd vs. Arn Anderson (*1/4)
  • Randy Savage vs. Avalanche (*1/2)
  • Sting vs. Big Bubba Rogers (*1/2)
  • Texas Tornado Match: The Nasty Boys vs. Harlem Heat (**)
  • Strap Match: Hulk Hogan vs. Vader (DUD)
