- Thunder Rosa [c] vs. Melina for the NWA WORLD WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP (NR)
-LAST WEEK: Melina announces that she will face Thunder Rosa for the Women’s Title tonight.
–Sean Mooney announces that Crockett Cup 2020 tickets will go on sale this Friday, then highlights what to expect on tonight’s show and tells everyone to subscribe to the YouTube channel.
-Galli and Bennett welcome the home audience. They hype the Women’s World Championship main event tonight, then take it to Dave Marquez.
-INTERVIEW PODIUM: Marquez welcomes Tim Storm and asks what’s on his mind. Storm is not happy about losing last week, saying it did not go as planned but he’s not close to giving up and also throws shade at the rando who keeps mocking him dressed as “Momma Storm”. Storm says he has his own path to walk, out comes Thom Latimer to interrupt. Latimer says Strictly Business is done with Tim Storm and is mad that he’s trying to put a wedge between he and his best friend Nick Aldis. Instead of Faux Momma Storm we get the man behind it: Danny Deals (from the Highspots ads). Deals says he’s got a tag team partner for Storm to help him get some gold around his waist. Storm is only interested in getting his hands on Deals, Deals says this can go one of two ways: unicorns/rainbows or hellfire. Door #1 or Door #2? Storm, again, just wants to beat up Danny Deals for disrespecting his mom. Deals offers a new deal to meet his proposed partner instead in a singles match; if Storm loses, the mystery man will get a contract, if the mystery man loses then Storm gets five minutes in the ring with Deals. Deals brings up the shady way that Storm won the World Title, taking the spot this mystery man should have had. Mystery Man is…”Godzilla” Jax Dane. Storm and Dane go nose to nose, ready to destroy things like two bulls in a china shop but instead we cut away.
- I’ll be honest I don’t know the pre-Powerrr history of this new NWA so this did nothing for me, but the staredown was intense so I’m down for the match. I just wish this Danny Deals stuff would just end already; easily the weakest part of the show.
-FAKE AD: MAN CAMP w/ Nikita Koloff & Lex Luger. Imagine the orgies.
-INTERVIEW PODIUM: Marquez is with Matt Cross. Cross says he has history, heart, and spirit like the NWA; he has made a name for himself around the world and now wants to make his name in the United States as part of the company. Very impassioned promo from Cross, glad he’s sticking around.
“Stroke Daddy” Ricky Starks vs. Matt Cross vs. “Outlandish” Zicky Dice
This is a non-title match without the usual 6:05 time limit. Dice bails early, letting Starks and Cross go head to head. Starks grabs a side headlock, Cross whips him off and Dice pulls him out of the ring. Starks and Dice trade strikes, Dice sends him into the post, Cross bides his time then finally flattens both with a tope suicida. Cross rolls Dice in, Dice rolls back out and Starks rolls Cross up for the 1…2…Cross kicks out and sends Starks into Dice, who flies off the apron. Dice tries to steal the win with a couple of pinfall attempts to no avail, then splashes Cross in the corner. Starks charges, Dice sidesteps and he runs into Cross. Starks and Cross with a double backdrop, Cross hits Starks with a Cross Cutter and a Shooting Star Press, Dice throws Cross out and covers Starks for the 1…2…3.
Zicky Dice defeated Ricky Starks & Matt Cross via pinfall (3:18)
- A most OUTLANDISH win for the most OUTLANDISH man in the OUTLANDISH NWA. I think I found a new favorite word. I thought mentioning the usual time limit wasn’t being enforced meant we were in for a long one but turns out I was wrong. I enjoyed what we got, and especially Zicky Dice getting the win as he’s definitely one of the more entertaining guys on the show. Looks like we’re heading towards Starks/Dice once more for the TV Title. (**1/2)
Dice celebrates like he’s won a gold medal at the Olympics, hugging the ref and kissing his fanny pack.
-MAY VALENTINE’S DIARY: May Valentine says she started this so everyone could see how amazing her life is. Valentine puts over “the love of her life” Royce Isaacs winning a match last week over “supposed” legends The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. Valentine then talks about hanging out with her new bff Sal Rinauro, including doing makeup, and says Kamille is not the monster everyone thinks she is. And that’s the segment.
-INTERVIEW PODIUM: Galli welcomes Aron “Shooter” Stevens. Stevens takes a second to ask about how good he is, Galli cuts him off saying he’s only had two title defenses, which he only won because he went running. Stevens brags about having the “largest” third-degree black belt in the world. Galli asks if he wants to be a fighting champion, Stevens says he IS a fighting champion and tells Galli to do his job and talk about his sensei The Question Mark, who makes his way out for the next match.
Trevor Murdoch vs. The Question Mark [w/ Aron “Shooter” Stevens]
Murdoch drops Mark with a series of clotheslines, Mark dodges a corner splash and goes for the Mongrovian Spike but misses. Mark clutches his hand, Murdoch hits a flying bulldog from the top, almost like a goddamn crossbody to the back, for the 1…2…3.
Trevor Murdoch defeated The Question Mark via pinfall (0:37)
- Well okay then. (NR)
Stevens attacks Murdoch from behind, Question Mark joining in once he comes to. Stevens knocks Murdoch silly with relentless back elbow strikes in the corner.
-INTERVIEW PODIUM: Sean Mooney welcomes Nick Aldis. Aldis takes a minute to show off how good he’s looking, saying he’s dressed like he’s going to the Kentucky Derby because he’s the thoroughbred of pro wrestling. Aldis puts over his victories so far this year, proving to everyone who’s pulling the wagon and driving the NWA forward. Not trickle-down economics, it’s Nick-le down economics. Aldis calls out “The Villain” Marty Scurll, giving him one chance to back out of their deal for The Crockett Cup 2020 by admitting Aldis is the better man. Scurll makes his way out, Mooney asks if he’s still up for the challenge. Scurll says he’s not backing out of anything and wants to fight RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW, going so far as to get in the ring and remove his shirt in VERY INTIMIDATING fashion. Aldis asks Scurll if he’s sure he wants to do this. Out comes Royce Isaacs, Aldis asks Scurll if he’s positive he wants to do this. Out comes Thom Latimer, Aldis asks him one last time if he’s sure. Scurll isn’t afraid, Aldis removes his coat and watch, out comes Villain Enterprises member Brody King to back his leader up. Brawl breaks out.
-Mooney hypes “Circle Squared”, NWA’s Gut Check-like show, which you can watch now on YouTube.
-INTERVIEW PODIUM: Marquez welcomes Eddie Kingston, who’s taping his fists up as he makes his way over. Kingston says it’s time to bust somebody up, that somebody being The Pope. There’s no more distractions or extra activities, it’s just him and Pope. Kingston DARES Pope to come out right now. Pope finally makes his way out, teases taping his fists, but decides against it. Pope puts himself over as pimptastic (cool) and keeps talking, Kingston getting increasingly frustrated. What Pope chooses is what Pope is going to do, blah blah, in come The Bouncers to back Kingston up. Pope says he has the money to do what he chooses, and suddenly THE BOUNCERS ATTACK KINGSTON. Money talks to a couple of alcoholics.
-VIDEO: recap of Thunder Rosa’s Women’s Title win and Melina granting herself a title shot.
-NWA POWERRR UPDATE: Mooney is back in front of the green screen to hype The Crockett Cup and the planned match between Aldis and Scurll for the World’s Heavyweight Championship. Mooney confirms the first team entered in this year’s Cup: The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. Mooney announces two championship matches for next week’s episode: Starks/Dice for the TV Title and The Bouncers will challenge Eli Drake & James Storm for the Tag Team Titles.
Thunder Rosa [c] vs. Melina for the NWA WORLD WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
Rosa wants to fight, Melina calls her disrespectful for even suggesting it. Rosa shoves her and tells her to fight, Melina rolls out of the ring and walks up the steps, taking the countout.
Thunder Rosa [c] defeated Melina via countout to retain the NWA WORLD WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP (1:45)
- Honestly I’m just glad this wasn’t a Fingerpoke of Doom situation. (NR)
Allysin Kay shows up on the steps to chase Melina back down to ringside. Kay punches Melina and rolls her into the ring. Kay yells at her to get up, in comes Kamille who drops her with a spear! Tasha Steelz and Ashley Vox check on Kay, Rosa gets in the ring and stares Kamille down. YES. YES GOOD.
FINAL THOUGHTS: REAL light on the wrestling this week and outside of The Bouncers’ heel turn and the Rosa/Kamille staredown not much really grabbed my attention. NWA is doing things but said things don’t seem to be something I’m jiving with. Next week’s show should be good though and I really do wanna see Rosa/Kamille lock horns.
